Happy Valentine’s Day dilettantes! I hope you get lots of hugs and kisses sent your way today! I plan on buying myself a giant cupcake and watching a good movie tonight. And while flowers and gifts are lovely, I really just hope you all share lots of love with the special people around you.

Happy Turkey Day! Are you all too stuffed to move? Or so exhausted from cooking that looking at one more yam might just make you cry? Well congratulations, you’ve almost made it through the holiday weekend, but before you wrap things up don’t forget to remember what the season is all about…

Happy Wednesday everyone! I know that this was supposed to be up on Sunday, but I was face down in my books for the last four days. Now that I have some free time, however, I can connect with you all again. Better late than never right? I like to think so.

This past weekend my boyfriend and I celebrated the fourth year anniversary of our relationship. I would not have imagined that I would be holding hands with the same man- who happens to be my first boyfriend – since high school, but he has filled my life with so much happiness and love that I couldn’t imagine holding hands with anyone else. Happy Mothers Day! I hope you all had a wonderful time with family today and spoiled your mothers with love and little favours (my mom was so happy just because we did the morning dishes for her). I am so blessed that I still have all four grandparents alive and well, and so today we celebrated three mothers and two grandmothers at our house. And of course a Mothers Day would not be complete without gifts and cards, so I got to break out the stamping supplies and get a little creative.

Something New from Something Old

When my parents came into possession of some old barn windows a few years back, I immediately laid claim to two of them because I knew I wanted to do something artsy with them. Their rustic and tarnished look had so much character; I could just see them nestled into barn walls as tractors drove by and horses nibbled on hay in the countryside. So much inspiration, yet what to make of them? Continue reading

Personalizing Your Gifts

If you’re like me, then you enjoy giving gifts as much as you love receiving them. Whether it’s for a specific occasion or simply in the spur of the moment, the joy I get from putting thought and effort into something special for a special someone is just so rewarding. Because of this love, I don’t like to stop after the picking of the gift, so I have taken to packaging my gifts with different forms of tags and cards and wrapping that lets me add an even more personalized touch.
