Happy Valentine’s Day dilettantes! I hope you get lots of hugs and kisses sent your way today! I plan on buying myself a giant cupcake and watching a good movie tonight. And while flowers and gifts are lovely, I really just hope you all share lots of love with the special people around you.
One of my favourite parts of Christmas is breaking out the Christmas paper and stamp sets and spending hours in the crafting room with my snowman mug of tea working on different projects. The frames above are one of my best-loved projects, and decorating candles is great because it doesn’t take much time and yet it makes a big impact. Continue reading
Hello fellow dilettantes! Surprised to see me? I know it’s been far too long since my last post, especially since I had just talked about re-working my timing to fit with my new work schedule. But I am back now and ready to cook, craft, read, create, and blog about it all!
So my supervisor just recently came back from a three-week paternal leave after his wife had a gorgeous little baby girl. There is also another woman in the office who is currently on maternal leave and brings in her baby once and a while. Happy Mothers Day! I hope you all had a wonderful time with family today and spoiled your mothers with love and little favours (my mom was so happy just because we did the morning dishes for her). I am so blessed that I still have all four grandparents alive and well, and so today we celebrated three mothers and two grandmothers at our house. And of course a Mothers Day would not be complete without gifts and cards, so I got to break out the stamping supplies and get a little creative.
Hello all! So I had a neat experience yesterday: I was modelling hats and fascinators with my best friend Danielle Scheven (she has her own blog on her entrepreneurial musings, you know – check it out here!) at our annual community flower show (yes, we have an event all about flowers – welcome to the country). I got to see and wear some gorgeous head-wear, and well it inspired me! So I headed to the nearest Michaels afterwards to buy the materials to make my own fascinator!
Welcome to March everyone! I know everyone says this, but I can’t believe we’re already onto our third month of 2013, like seriously, where did the last two months go? The good news for me, however, is that this means that I’m over halfway through this semester and summer is approaching! But before that happens I still have to get through all of my assignments, not to mention the relentless rain that is spring on the West Coast, so let’s not get ahead of ourselves. Continue reading
